Kathy Deane holds a number of titles in the holistic field including being recognized by the Canadian Herbalist Association of BC/Canada as a Registered Herbal Practitioner and also holds her Doctorate in Natural Medicine  DNM and her RNP Registered Naturotherapy Practitioner with the EBNMP of Canada which is endorsed, accredited and recognized by the American Naturopathic Medical Association, Canada’s only legal registry for DNM, and RNP. 

Kathy owns and operates Nature’s Way Herbal Health Institute Inc and runs a Health Clinic in Lumby BC.   Kathy has traveled extensively teaching her love of achieving a healthy body mind and spirit which includes the ways and means to achieve it.  She is admired and respected by many students, graduates, friends and colleagues.

Being raised as a child, where the only doctor was the one out your back door to the running of her own Institute, has brought many changes in Kathy’s life - part of this being the developing of Nature’s Way Herbal Health Institute Inc..  Kathy will tell you, “a number of years ago I realized that we needed to gear up for the changes that were taking place in society and the increased health concerns for the people.  We need our doctors and medical system however I knew we had to bring people back to the holistic way of living and had to teach more to become aware of how to maintain good health naturally.  I love to teach and share about my walk in life with the wonderful healing qualities of herbs and other natural healing modalities.  Deane states, “I realized that unless I actually sat down and put my thoughts on paper I would only be able to reach a few people.  Thus my writing career began.”  “ I can remember starting out with a typewriter,” states Deane.  Now as I work freely on the most updated computers available I chuckle, as the type writer seems so archaic.”

Kathy in addition to developing her own programs for her Institute is currently writing children’s books on Herblism. “I want to reach the children on their level” states Deane.  “I am trying to bring my herbs alive like real people so that when children read these books they can actually visualize what they stand for.”

Kathy’s background covers having a Grandfather who was liaison for the natives on Vancouver Island BC and many Native stories have been incorporated in her program.  Kathy is part native. 

“I always try to continue my own education yearly in one way or another” states Deane.  From having the honor of spending time in the learning of Chinese Constitutional Therapy to the taking of many courses from other recognized healers has all been a part of Kathy’s training throughout her life. Kathy holds many certifications, some of which include Certified Herbal Consultant, Iridologist, Master Herbalist, Silva Grad, Reflexology, Reiki Master, Emotional Healing, Constitutional Analysis, Thai Massage, RNP Registered Naturotherapy Practitioner and DNM Doctor of Natural Medicine.
